The Mexican Blue Palm, native to Baja California, Mexico, is one of the most drought-tolerant palms available and does very well in cold weather as low as 15F; it is also resistant to heat and wind. Because this palm’s growth rate is slow, the average mature height ranges from 20-40’ with a spread of 12-25’, and a fairly massive trunk up to 18” in diameter. This palm has distinct silvery blue-green leaves, which sometimes appear white depending on the light. The Mexican Blue Palm produces conspicuous long creamy flower stalks.
